Privacy Policy — Hydra: Drink Water Reminder

Last updated: July 20, 2026

No data collected

This privacy policy explains what data the Hydra Chrome extension ("Hydra", "the extension", "we") accesses, how it is used, and what is not collected. Hydra is designed to work entirely on your device.

Summary

Hydra does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party network requests of any kind. Everything Hydra stores stays inside your own browser profile.

What data Hydra stores, and where

Hydra uses the chrome.storage.sync API (a storage facility provided by Chrome itself) to save:

This data:

Permissions and why they're needed

PermissionPurposePersonal data involved
alarms Schedule the next water reminder at a precise time, independent of whether the popup is open. None
notifications Display the "Drink Water" reminder notification with Done/Snooze actions. None
storage Persist your reminder settings and schedule so they survive browser restarts. None (settings only, see above)

Hydra does not request:

Third parties

Hydra does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. The extension makes no network requests at all — it is fully self-contained.

Children's privacy

Hydra does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of Hydra adds an optional feature that involves data leaving your device — this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date, and the change will be described in the extension's release notes before the update ships.
