Privacy Policy — GoalTracker: Daily Habits & Streaks

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This privacy policy explains what data the GoalTracker Chrome extension ("GoalTracker", "the extension", "we") accesses, how it is used, and what is not collected. GoalTracker is designed to work entirely on your device.

Summary

GoalTracker does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party network requests of any kind. Everything GoalTracker stores stays inside your own browser profile.

What data GoalTracker stores, and where

To do its job — tracking your goals and streaks — GoalTracker stores the following locally using Chrome's own chrome.storage API:

This data is stored locally by Chrome on your device via chrome.storage.local. GoalTracker never sends it to the developer or any other server. It contains only the goals and check-ins you create yourself, and no accounts, passwords, browsing history, page contents, or identifiers tied to you as a person. It is removed automatically if you uninstall the extension, and you can delete individual goals or export and clear your data at any time from the dashboard.

Permissions and why they're needed

PermissionPurposePersonal data involved
storage / unlimitedStoragePersist your goals, check-in history, and settings locally.Your goals and check-ins (stored locally).

GoalTracker does not request access to the contents of the pages you visit, your browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, cookies, tabs, passwords, location, camera, microphone, or clipboard, or any permission beyond those listed above.

Data export and import

GoalTracker lets you export all of your goals and history to a JSON file, and import such a file later. This export is generated on your device and saved wherever you choose; GoalTracker does not upload it anywhere.

Third parties

GoalTracker does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services. The extension makes no network requests of its own — it is fully self-contained.

Children's privacy

GoalTracker does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect or transmit data to us at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date, and the change will be described in the extension's release notes before the update ships.
